Preparation of Medium: Add components to

1.0L of distilled water, omitting the specific amino

acid to be assayed for in the procedure. Heat to boil

ing for 2–3 min. Distribute into tubes. Autoclave for

10 min at 15 psi pressure–121°C.

Use: For the microbiological assay for amino acids.

Pediococcus acidilactici ATCC 8042 and Enterococ

cus hirae ATCC 8043 are used as test microorgan

isms.
